All GIAC Silver Certification attempts that you receive access to on or after December 1st, 2007, will be delivered in a single exam format and will be administered in a proctored environment. If you started your GIAC Silver Certification attempt before December 1st, 2007 your certification requirements will remain unchanged.

Certification Information

Each GIAC certification is designed to stand on its own, and represents a certified individual's mastery of a particular set of knowledge and skills. There is no particular order in which GIAC certifications must be earned; though we recommend that candidates master fundamentals before moving on to more advanced topics.

Certifications

Candidates are given 4 months to complete the exam for Silver certification. The exam is taken in a proctored environment through the candidate's portal account. Full certifications must be renewed periodically, ensuring that certified individuals remain up-to-date on the latest threats, technology, and best practices to meet today's security challenges. The Software Security Certifications are currently offered only through proctored exams given at specific locations, for more info click here.

Candidates may wish to earn a single certification that is most suited to their individual needs and/or job responsibilities. GIAC currently offers the following individual certifications:
